"This machine is currently being used by delivery engine system as MicroStrategy logging server...can free this machine either by destroying it or removing the distribution manager ,execution engine and logging server references"
After a brand new installation of MSTR 9.3.1, I was setting up Distribution Manager via Narrowcast Administrator. System wouldn't let me and I kept on receiving above error message.
Fix:
This fix involves changing registry. Please do so at your own risk. I always backup my registry prior to making any changes.
Go to Start > Run > regedit and hit Enter.
In the Registry Editor window, open Find and search for MicroStrategy Broadcast Server.
Expand that and go to 7.0.
Expand 7.0 and select Setup.
Delete the SystemName, SystemGUID and UsedAs entries entirely (Select entry > right click > Delete).
Hope this helps.
